Today, March 26th is Epilepsy Awareness Day, a national day of recognition for those battling this disease and to also provide information to our communities on what to do if you come across someone suffering from a seizure. To better understand what causes this debilitating disease we are joined once again by Dr. Shafer Stedronova.

Big takeaways from our conversation are if you or a loved one are experiencing a seizure for the first time, to always and immediately contact emergency services. Seizures should be treated like an emergency until proven otherwise.
In some cases, an individual will suffer from seizures on a regular basis and because of this will have a plan in place with friends or family. If this is the case, always follow the individuals wishes.
