A Traverse City gourmet food shop is giving back to the community with its annual ‘Fustini’s Cares’ initiative.
Fustini’s Oils & Vinegars donates one percent of every sale to their ‘Fusitni’s Cares’ campaign from their different locations around the state including Traverse City, Petoskey, Ann Arbor, and Holland.
General manager Liz Lancashire said it’s a way for them to give back to the communities that support them.
She said they just issued checks for 2024, giving out more than $18,000 Goodwill Northern Michigan Food Rescue, $20,000 to The Groundwork Center of Traverse City and $5,000 Tart Trails of the Greater Grand Traverse Region.
“We’ve committed to food rescue again. And it’s been a couple of years that we’ve done it both food rescue and groundwork and tart trails. we know that. We don’t know how to do it. They know how to do it. So, helping them to be most effective in helping get food and good food to people is really what we want to support. So, they’re great community partners for us,” said Lancashire.
Lancashire said they plan to continue the Fustini’s Cares campaign in 2025. The recipients this year will again be Goodwill Northern Michigan Food Rescue, The Groundwork Center of Traverse City and Tart Trails of the Greater Grand Traverse Region.
She said these non-profits were chosen because of their community commitment to the Traverse City area.
