Ohio Man Arraigned for Breaking and Entering, Larceny, Multiple Drug Charges

An Ohio man was arraigned for breaking and entering, larceny, and multiple drug charges on Sept. 7, according to the Traverse Narcotics Team.

These charges first began with a July 4 traffic stop that led to detectives from TNT working with the Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office for a drug investigation, TNT says. A Missaukee County deputy stopped Jeffery Rebarchek’s car who was a suspect in  an aggravated assault from Wexford County. During the traffic stop, the deputy found over $81,000 in cash and a large quantity of marijuana.

According to TNT, they were asked to help assist after finding the drugs and money. When they searched the car they found over 1.6 pounds of marijuana, 25 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and other evidence of narcotics trafficking.

Rebarchek was released on bond and placed on a tether while waiting to go to court for the assault charges. TNT says that Rebarchek cut his tether, fled the area and failed to appear in court, which led to a failure to appear warrant being issued for Rebarchek.

Then, on Sept. 6, Missaukee County deputies were sent to an address in Lake City because of a report of an attempted breaking and entering. Deputies say the male suspect fled the scene upon their arrival. A Michigan State Police K9 handler, MSP Emergency Support Team, MSP Houghton Lake Post troopers and TNT detectives were then sent to the scene.

After a K9 search, Rebarchek was located and found in possession of over 20 grams of methamphetamine and cash, according to TNT. Due to his failure to appear warrant and a three-count felony warrant from TNT for the first incident, Rebarchek was lodged at the Missaukee County jail.

Rebarchek was arraigned on Sept. 7 for breaking and entering, larceny, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver psilocybin mushrooms and maintaining a drug house, according to TNT. Detectives are also seeking additional charges for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine because of what happened Sept. 6. The Missaukee County prosecutor is reviewing the incident.

Rebarchek’s current bond is set at $20,000 cash.
