The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office says a Pennsylvania woman drowned while swimming in Bear Lake Tuesday evening.
The sheriff’s office was dispatched to the 13000 block of Lakeside Ave. in Bear Lake Township around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a drowning.
A caller advised that they believed they saw what they thought was an innertube floating in Bear Lake. When they approached, they discovered that it was a body in the water.
The victim, 67-year-old Regina Brown, had been seen swimming in the area earlier in the day by witnesses. The sheriff’s office found no signs of foul play during their investigation.
The incident remains under investigation.
