Opening day is quickly approaching for firearm season.
That means many hunters are preparing to sight-in their rifles.
After a long off-season sights may be bumped off, something that can happen to any hunter.
It’s important to make sure your rifle is still shooting straight, which can be done with sight-ins. That makes sure hunters are getting clear shots for a clean kill.
“It’s basically a confidence check for most hunters going into the woods just to make sure that their rifle is head on, so if they do see the buck of a lifetime out there, they sure don’t want to miss because their rifle got bumped ,” says Rich Steffe, ranger safety officer.
Prior to firearm season, the offers sight-in days during the first two weekends in November.
