Man Arrested Related to Serious Crimes In Grayling

Michigan State Police of Houghton Lake arrested an Arenac County man accused of sexually assaulting and trying to kill a woman he knows.

Terry Streib faces several serious crimes in Grayling, a place he used to live.

Troopers haven’t released many details, as of now we know Terry Streib was arrested in Grayling earlier this month.

Streib is being charged with four counts of first degree sex crimes, first degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and attempted murder.

We’ve been working all Tuesday evening to get more information, but what we do know is Terry Streib was arrested and is now being held at the Crawford County Jail.  People in the community say that they’re surprised that something so serious is happening in their own neighborhood.

Jeremiah Haskins says, “It was very shocking to me because this community doesn’t have very many crimes to that nature.”

And even though Streib is in the county jail the crimes still have people concerned.

Haskins says, “My grandma just lives a block away and I grew up a couple blocks away, so it was very shocking to hear that, and it makes me feel a little uncomfortable.”

We’ve reached out to several law enforcement, but none were available to talk. At this time the public is not in danger. Stay with 9 and 10 news on the web and on air on this developing story.
