We know the H1N1 flu can be passed easily between humans, but what about pets?
Veterinarians say yes, people can pass H1N1 to their healthy family pets.
The Centers for Disease Control has confirmed two ferrets in Oregon and Nebraska have tested positive, and one died.
Also, a cat in Iowa contracted the flu.
Local vets say they see respiratory illness in pets all the time, and have not seen more cases than usual, but they warn you should not cuddle with your pets if you're feeling sick.
Vets advise calling or bringing your pets in if they seem to have a fever, are acting lethargic, or coughing or sneezing a lot.
