CLEVELAND (AP) — Officials in Cleveland say more remains were discovered today at the Cleveland home of a convicted rapist. Authorities say four more bodies and a skull were found today. Six bodies were found last week. Anthony Sowell was charged today with five counts of aggravated murder.
DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Police say three missing North Dakota college softball players have been found dead in their vehicle, which was pulled from a pond. Police in Dickinson say they're "still investigating" the cause of the deaths. The students attended Dickinson State University. WASHINGTON (AP) — A California congressman wants to see workers receive paid sick leave if their employer asks them to stay home with swine flu or a similar contagious illness. Rep. George Miller says his measure would protect about 50 million workers with no paid sick leave. Many of those who would be covered work in low-wage jobs in food service and hospitality. WASHINGTON (AP) — Voters in two states, Virginia and New Jersey, have gone to the polls today to choose governors. And some cities, including New York, Atlanta and Houston, are choosing mayors. In Maine, a gay-marriage law could be affirmed or rejected. BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana justice of the peace who refused to marry an interracial couple has resigned. Keith Bardwell quit after weeks of calls for his ouster from officials including the governor. Gov. Bobby Jindal (JIN'-dul) called Bardwell's resignation "long overdue."
