CLEVELAND (AP) — There's no official confirmation yet, but a Cleveland television station is reporting that two more bodies have been removed from a convicted rapist's home. Police recovered the bodies of six women from Anthony Sowell's home last week. WKYC-TV says investigators have been excavating the yard. Sowell is in jail but hasn't been charged yet in connection with the bodies.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congress could miss President Barack Obama's deadline on a health care bill. The House is expected to vote on a bill later this week. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's waiting for a final cost analysis from the Congressional Budget Office before beginning debate on the Senate version. Reid says he won't be "bound by any timelines." WASHINGTON (AP) — Voters in New Jersey and Virginia are choosing governors today. There are a handful of congressional and mayoral races. In Maine, voters are considering a measure that would repeal a bill passed by the legislature allowing same-sex marriages. NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks have ended the day mostly higher. The Dow finished the day down 18 points at 9,772, but the broader indexes posted gains. The S&P 500 added 2 and a half points to 1,045 while the Nasdaq finished 8 points higher at 2,057. CLARKSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Doctors and nurses in Maryland are being watched -- to make sure they keep their hands clean. State officials are creating teams of staff members at hospitals around the state to secretly monitor their colleagues' hand-washing habits. The program will be funded by federal stimulus money through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
