Democracy is in action today all over Northern Michigan today as voters cast ballots to decide issues in their community.

Since it's an off year, polling stations are not normally as busy. But that doesn't mean the results of today's voting are not important.

Throughout Northern Michigan, there are bond issues for school improvements and school operating millages. School district, city and county positions are up for grabs and a whole host of other proposals voters will be asked to decide today throughout the area that will affect roads, fire protection and much more.
