An Ogemaw County man will appear in court for the second time today, accused of trying to kill a woman.

Police say it happened last Wednesday at Michelle Croteau's home in West Branch. A relative of Christopher Martinez called police, saying Martinez had just called him saying he had killed Michelle. When police arrived they found Martinez, and Croteau alive. She told them Martinez had punched her several times and strangled her.

The woman was taken to the hospital and Martinez was taken to the Ogemaw County Jail. He was arraigned on a charge of attempted murder in court the next day.
