Traverse City Doctor’s Office Goes Green With Solar Panel Installation

A doctor’s office in Traverse City is becoming more eco-friendly, in a move that should save them some green along the way.

The practice of Doctor Gary Ruoff recently had a set of 32 solar panels installed on the building’s roof.

The project is in keeping with Traverse City’s plan to run on 100 percent green energy within the next several years.

During the summer months, solar experts say the panels could completely negate the building’s energy costs.

“Net metering is, the doctor is going to use all the power that’s being produced, but he’s closed on weekends. And during those times that meter is going to turn backwards and credit his account,” Allan O’Shea, president, CBS Solar said.

CBS Solar says they have a list of other businesses wanting to invest in solar energy.
